Italian spritzes are one of the easiest cocktail recipes to master with many variations. Dating back to the 1800โ€™s Hapsburg soldiers found Italian wines too strong so they lightened their drinks with a splash of water (or โ€œspritzโ€ in German) . Popular spritz drinks include the classic Aperol spritz the limoncello spritz and the hugo spritz (with elderflower liqueur).

Aperol is a popular Italian liqueur best known as the main ingredient of an Aperol Spritz. With a bright orange color, slightly bitter flavor and a low alcohol content (11%) Aperol is commonly consumed before dinner as an apertif but can be used in a number of cocktails like my Aperol Sour and Frozen Aperol Spritz , or take a look at my Cranberry Aperol Spritz for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • Peach nectar
  • Aperol
  • Sparkling water
  • Prosecco
  • Peach slices

How to Make a Peach Aperol Spritz

This peach spritz recipe takes a few liberties on the classic 3:2:1 spritz ratio and the delicious peach flavor pairs perfectly with the bitter notes of Aperol. For a single drink pour in the peach nectar, aperol, sparkling water ( or club soda)and prosecco to a wine glass filled with ice. Stir gently to combine and add fresh peach slices for garnish. If you’re making a batch for a party add the peach nectar, aperol, sparkling water and prosecco to a large pitcher and stir gently to combine. Divide among wine glasses with ice and add sliced fresh peaches for garnish.
