This is a chicken recipe I make weekly for my lunch meal prep. Whether I make it on the grill or bake it this chicken comes out perfectly every time and I throw sliced or chopped chicken into salads, rice bowls, sandwiches and wraps Greek yogurt makes your chicken tender and juicy while bold spices and aromatics bring a ton of flavor.
Cooking Tips
- You can marinate this greek yogurt chicken recipe for as little as 15 minutes or up to 24 hours. Due to the gentle nature of Greek yogurt you can marinade for a longer time without running the risk of over tenderizing the meat.
- You do not need to rinse off the Greek yogurt marinade. As it cooks the Greek yogurt chicken marinade forms a delicious golden brown crust on the outside of the chicken which is not only tasty but also keeps your chicken extra juicy.
- Customize this marinade with your favorite fresh herbs like oregano , thyme or parsley
- If you don’t have fresh garlic you can substitute 1 teaspoon of garlic powder or onion powder

Terrific! A recipe just as I like it- a few key ingredients, simple, easy-to-follow instructions(after all the verbiage & ads), and a delicious turnout. I deleted the cumin, but my husband is surprised I followed the rest! Iโm going to add it to my Christmas menu for the less traditional Italians , topping with some dried tomatoes, parsley, and turmeric for the red, green, and gold theme.
Brianna says
Julie, I’m glad to hear you liked this chicken and I’m thrilled it will make it onto your holiday table!
Tricia, Tampa FL says
Easy, tasty recipe. It made for a moist chicken breast. I was looking for an oil free marinade and this fit the bill. I served with a salad. This will go in my regular rotation.
