Cooking Tips and Serving Sugestions

  • The secret to crispiness in these baked wings is to pat them dry with a paper towel and then use baking powder
  • While I use fresh garlic using jarred garlic is just fine
  • Any time you make chicken wings make sure they’ve cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F using a digital thermometer
  • Serve these crispy wings with a side of ranch, blue cheese dressing, carrots or celery

How to Make Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

To make these wings in the oven preheat the oven to 425 degrees F, or if using an air fryer preeat to 400 degrees F. In a small bowl whisk together the baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings preparation

Using paper towels pat the chicken wings dry and put them in a large bowl. Add in the spice mixture and oss to combine, ensuring the wings are fully coated. Place the wings in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and a wire rack.

Bake the wings for 20 minutes. Flip the wings and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. (If you are using an air fryer, place wings into air fryer and cook for 8 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 8 minutes.)

After you flip the wings prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the minced garlic and garlic powder and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove the pan from the stove and allow to cool slightly until the wings are done cooking.

When the wings are done baking remove them from the oven or air fryer) and transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle the butter mixture over the wings, sprinkle in the parmesan and toss to coat the wings.

Return the wings to the large baking sheet with a wire rack and brush or spoon remaining garlic parmesan sauce over the wings. Return the wings to the oven (or return them to the air fryer) and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve as desired.

Storage

Store leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or you can place them in a freezer safe bag and freeze them for up to 3 months.

Reheat chicken wings in the oven at 400 degrees F for 10-20 minutes until heated through and crispy. For frozen wings make sure to thaw them in the fridge before reheating.
