Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet with a wire rack
  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 medium saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1.5 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

For the Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese finely grated

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons flat leaf parsely finely chopped

Instructions
 

For the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel and put them in a large bowl. Add in the spice mixture and toss to combine, ensuring the wings are fully coated.
  • Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with a wire rack.
  • Bake the wings for 20 minutes. Flip the wings and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  • After you flip the wings prepare the sauce.
  • In a small sauce pan melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the minced garlic and garlic powder and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove the pan from the stove and allow to cool slightly until the wings are done cooking.
  • When the wings are done baking remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle the butter mixture over the wings, sprinkle in the parmesan and toss to coat the wings.
  • Return the wings to the wire rack and brush or spoon remaining garlic parmesan sauce over the wings. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with parsley. Serve as desired.

For the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F
  • Prepare the wings in steps 2-3 above.
  • Place wings into air fryer and cook for 8 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 8 minutes ensuring they've reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F)
  • Prepare the garlic parmesan butter sauce in steps 7-8 above.
  • Return the wings to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Serve as desired.
