The Irish Mule is a delicious twist on the classic mule cocktail. A basic Mule cocktail recipe  consists of a spirit, lime juice and ginger beer and is the basis of what I think is the perfect cocktail. In the case of the Irish Mule the alcohol is Irish whiskey ( Jameson , Bushmills or your favorite brand) which lends a sweet and slightly smoky note to the cocktail. No matter what mule variation you make ( take a look at the list below) it is traditional to serve this drink in a copper mug and be sure to take a look at my London Mule Cocktail!

Irish Mule – Irish whiskey, lime juice, ginger beer

Moscow Mule – vodka, lime juice, ginger beer

Kentucky Mule – bourbon, lime juice, ginger beer

London Mule – gin, lime juice, ginger beer

Caribbean Mule – rum, lime juice, ginger beer

Mexican Mule – tequila, lime juice, ginger beer

Quick Tips

  • You can substitute ginger ale for the ginger beer if that’s what you have on hand
