Featuring bright cranberry and bubbly Prosecco a classic summer sip gets dressed up for the holidays. The sweetness of cranberry juice and slight bitter notes of Aperol come together to make a drink that’s incredibly balanced while Prosecco makes this drink extra festive. Whether you’r making a drink for one or a pitcher for a party my Cranberry Aperol Spritz is easy to make and a cocktail ready for any holiday celebration.

Aperol is a popular Italian liqueur best known as the main ingredient of an Aperol Spritz. With a bright orange color, slightly bitter flavor and a low alcohol content (11%) Aperol is commonly consumed before dinner as an apertif but can be used in a number of cocktails like my Aperol Sour and Frozen Aperol Spritz . Cranberry juice adds a festive twist to this classic spritz making it perfect for the winter holiday season (for more delicious cranberry cocktails take a look at my Cranberry Old Fashioned and Cranberry Orange Whiskey Sour).

  • Prosecco

How to Make a Cranberry Aperol Spritz

Whether you are making a single cocktail or a pitcher this cocktails follows the classic 3:2:1 spritz ratio. Add the Aperol and cranberry juice to a glass with ice (or a pitcher if making a larger batch) and stir to combine. Top with Prosecco and garnish with orange slices. Alternatively you can freeze orange slices and cranberries in an ice cube tray to make decorative ice garnishes as I did.

I made a pitcher of these for Thanksgiving, and everyone loved them! I don’t have fancy glasses, but stemless wine glasses with orange slices worked great. Definitely adding this recipe to our holiday tradition.
