With a wide vareity of store-bought coffee creamers available why should you make your own? Making your own coffee creamer is easy, made with natural ingredients that you likely have already (no hydrogenated vegetable oil, artificial flavors or stabilizers in this recipe) and you can adjust the ingredients to your tastes. For other delicious homemade coffee creamer variations take a look at my different flavors including Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer, Gingerbread Coffee Creamer and Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer.

This homemade french vanilla creamer uses vanilla beans and I do recommend seeking them out for the best vanilla flavor. Vanilla beans can be a bit pricy in the grocery store but are more affordable from online sources like Amazon. You can also substitute 1 tablesoon of pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste in place of the vanilla beans and this homemade coffee creamer will be delicious. You can also use your vanilla beans to make this delicious Vanilla Simple Syrup.

I typically use half and half (or a mix of of whole milk and heavy cream), but milk or cream are also delicious depending on your preference. You can also use your favorite dairy-free milk including almond milk, coconut milk or oat milk.

Homemade French Vanilla Coffee Creamer - Preparation

This homemade creamer recipe starts with a simple syrup. Add the water and sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer, stirring to ensure the sugar has fully dissolved. Reduce the heat to low. Slice the vanilla beans in half lengthwise and scrape out the vanilla seeds. Add both the vanilla pods and beans to the simple syrup along with your choice of milk. Allow the vanilla to steep over low heat for 20-30 minutes.

Remove the vanilla beans and strain the creamer using a fine mesh strainer. Transfer to a glass jar, mason jar or pitcher. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks and shake before serving.

We’ve been enjoying batch after batch of this. I have a great vanilla extract I use instead of a bean and it works like a charm.

Homemade coffee creamer is SOOOOO much better than store bought! I like that I’m aware of what each of the ingredients actually is and you don’t get that weird chemical taste like you do with store bought!

Vanilla latte is my go-to! I love that this recipe uses real vanilla paste! I used some vanilla paste Inhad on hand and it was 10/10 amazing! YUM!
