Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 5 oz package smoked salmon sliced
  • fresh dill chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400℉ or to the temperature specified on the package of puff pastry.
  • On a lightly floured surface roll out the puff pastry to a 10x14 in rectangle. Using a pizza wheel or sharp knife cut the puff pastry into 2.5x2.5 inch squares (about 20) and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cut a 1 inch round circle in the center of each puff pastry without cutting all the way through the bottom to create a border.
  • Beat together the large egg and water to create an egg wash and brush this over the top of each tart. Sprinkle each tart with everything bagel seasoning. Transfer to the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl stir together cream cheese, capers and lemon juice until combined. Press down the center of each tart and fill with the cream cheese mixture. Top each tart with a slice of smoked salmon and garnish with fresh dill. Serve as desired.
