Equipment

  • 1 roasting pan
  • 1 small saucepan
  • silicon brush

Ingredients

  • 1 8-10 pound spiral sliced bone in ham
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  • Remove the ham from the refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small saucepan add the apricot preserves, dijon mustard, brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Whisk together and bring to a simmer over medium heat, ensuring all the ingredients are well combined. Remove the pan from the heat and divide into two portions, using one half to glaze the ham before baking and reserving the other half to use as a sauce when serving.
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan cut side down. Brush the glaze over the ham, ensuring you glaze inbetween the slices. Cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake for 90 minutes (ensuring the ham gets to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F).
  • Increase the oven temperature to 425 degrees F and remove the aluminum foil, bake for an additional 10 minutes uncovered. Warm the reserved glaze in a saucepan or in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  • Transfer the ham to a serving platter and allow to rest for 15 minutes, serve with the reserved glaze.
