Simple yet elegant, it’s no surprise that the espresso martini is one of the most popular cocktails. This buzzy classic gets even better with the velvety richness of smooth Irish cream. This Baileys Espresso Martini is easy to make and sure to elevate any evening.

The original espresso martini is a delicious combination of vodka, coffee liqueur, sugar and espresso originally created in a London bar in the 1980s when a supermodel asked the bartender asked for a cocktail that would wake her up. While the classic espresso martini is delicious it gets better with the addition of rich Irish cream.

What is Baileys Irish Cream?

Baileys Irish Cream is a sweet liqueur that was invented in Dublin in 1973 and is a blend of cream, cocoa and Irish whiskey. Containing 17 % alcoholBaileys Irish Cream is enjoyed straight, mixed in with coffee or hot chocolate or as part of a cocktail. Irish cream is also a popular ingredient in desserts (like these delectable Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake Brownies ).

How to Make a Baileys Espresso Martini

With only three ingredients this is a simple cocktail to make. Best made with freshly brewed espresso (this espresso maker is great) you can also use cold brew concentrate if you don’t have a home espresso machine. Add vodka, Baileys and espresso to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds or until chilled. Strain the martini into a cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 espresso beans if desired.
